Approach
We are interested in the mix of architecture and urbanism. In our work, we focus on the transitions in our daily lives between public and private spaces and the social interaction between residents, users and the environment.
Work
With our growing team we work on a wide range of projects, from public buildings and places to housing and complex urban challenges. With BIM 3D software we work on simple answers to complex challenges. At the base of each design lies a compelling story of added value for people and nature.

Founders
The office is founded by Wouter Keizer and Ule Koopmans at the beginning of 2020. Before establishing the practice Keizer Koopmans, Wouter and Ule worked at renowned offices in The Netherlands and Germany. They worked on award-winning buildings and international competitions, on Dutch urbanism and German building technology. In these years they gained meaningful experience in all phases of the architecture process. Besides working for clients, Keizer Koopmans works on self-initiated projects through own development initiatives.
Wouter Keizer (1988) graduated together with Ule at the Technical University Delft in 2012. After his graduation he worked on the National Military Museum and several international architecture competitions at Claus & Kaan Architects.
In recent years he has worked as a projectarchitect at Grüntuch Ernst Architekten on a large transformation project in the heart of Berlin. He was responsible for the design and realisation of a big apartment building in ‘Areal am Tacheles’, where he worked in a masterplan together with Brandlhuber+ and Herzog & de Meuron. Wouter also organizes yearly architecture excursions to a.o. Hamburg, Copenhagen and Basel.
Ule Koopmans (1986) graduated together with Wouter at the Technical University Delft in 2012. After his graduation he worked at Mirck Architecture on the realisation of a modern villa with a garden by Piet Oudolf and the PPS Rechtbank Amsterdam at Rob Hootsmans.
In the last years Ule worked at Next Architects on several different scaled projects, ranging from large housing projects in Utrecht and Portugal to an urban analysis for Sloterdijk in Amsterdam. Besides working in architecture offices Ule started his own real estate development company – De Ontwikkelmannen – in collaboration with a contracter and developer. Ule plays a central role in linking different stakeholders from the perspective of design.
